No, that is not procrastination. That is...prioritization. Wrongly, but, this still should be done too.
Well, aptly, it's about four weeks out from Final Review, a bit more actually because I just learned that they moved Review back a week. Which is awesome, because I'm not sure how I'm going to get all of my work done and my thesis done as is. Blogging doesn't exactly help.
But I can talk a bit about what I'm planning and perhaps that will help some even if I should be doing other things instead.
By the end of the semester I should have something to add to EVERY section of my portfolio. That's some crazy talk, but I've been working hard this year and it hasn't shown up here much yet. I'm hoping that next year I'll be showing more, I have one show lined up already and I'll be making it more of a priority to really get some stuff out there. This thesis (because even when I'm not working on it, it's about all I think about) has just really been kicking my butt.
Mid-Term Review went pretty well, I was happy with the feedback I got and I'm actually pretty excited about Final. So, on that note, for Final I plan on having more (if not the complete first installment) from the series "Recrafting Presence." These are the large-scale photographs of my grandfather and my father, printed on canvas and stretched then embroidered onto. I have the first two complete, and would like to have the last five done for Final. I also will have the second in the wrapped chair series (that needs a better title...) and this one will be a bit different but I'm super excited about what that's going to bring. And lastly I'm working on a performance that will take place before and during the first of review. I'm thinking that there hasn't been much performance at this University so I'm excited to see what happens. Hopefully it's good, and I won't have to totally defend the entirety of performance art. But if so, then so be it!
Well, I guess that's about it. I should get back to work. Here are a few photos to get you by til Review (and maybe I'll post before then...but no promises!)
